More and more people are talking about BIM for infrastructure or “InfraBIM”, and we are not an exception. But why are we using the word BIM – Building Information Modeling in civil engineering context? In this presentation we want to explore the differences, similarities and connections between CIM – Civil Information Modeling and BIM – Building Information Modeling. We approach the theme from owner’s point of view and highlight the requirements for both CIM and BIM based design and construction, in order to create intelligent and integrated AIM – Asset Information Model.
